Pssst… this is not a dress rehearsal. This is it. Today will never come again. This, my friend, is really your life. Please live it up and enjoy it. No one on their deathbed wishes they had dieted more…
Sometimes when we grieve everything starts to shut down around us, we want to just sit down and bury ourselves in sadness… Often when we know someone who is grieving we tend to just “let them be” thinking they must need their space when in reality they need connection…
After speaking with many people who are affected by deep grief they all seem to say the same thing: The reality is this: You WILL grieve forever… You will never just “get over” the loss of a love one or moment, you just instead learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss which you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never ever be the same. Nor would you want to.
We cannot change the cards that we are dealt in life, we can however play the hell out of the ones we are holding.
Exercise and movement is magic, I’m absolutely serious! It gives you the strength, the optimism, the flexibility to do the rest. It is an amulet that transforms like a one a day pill… a feel-good pill that ought to be illegal but isn’t … You take it every day and it makes you feel absolutely great…. Right away. No matter how crappy, sad or self-pitying you felt when you took it.
The coolest thing is you don’t have to be perfect or good at it either, seriously just turn on a song (LOUD!) and begin moving… soon your heart rate is up, your metabolism starts firing and all those “HAPPY” endorphin’s create that feeling like… maybe, just maybe (YESSSSS!) I CAN get through this (grieving, winter, process, moment… whatever!) I often have people ask me if I truly ”” Workout”” ALL over my house….. Truth is, YUP I do! Ohhhh and you can as well… just start small and make it fun. Remember this “Consistency over Perfection”
So, if you are going through something or have been through something and have trouble moving forward, know this:
You my friend, ARE enough… you have a beautiful story to tell… and no one else can tell it but you. So, let’s live it up!!! Use the good China, call your family, take that trip, say I love you often, dance in your kitchen and buy those damn shoes! ♥️
