Tabata is a type of HIIT- one subsection under the broad umbrella of high-intensity interval training. Specifically, it’s a four-minute workout consisting of 8 rounds of 20 seconds of work at maximum effort, followed by 10 seconds of rest.

Doing as little as 4 minutes (or one “Tabata”) can increase your aerobic capacity, anaerobic capacity, VO2 max, resting metabolic rate, and can help you burn more fat (and make you look 200-percent leaner) than a traditional 60-minute aerobic workout.

Tabata lasts only four minutes and it is exceptionally intensive interval training. If it is performed right it will improve your aerobic and anaerobic viability, it accelerates your metabolism and stimulates fat burning. Thanks to that you will burn more calories than during a traditional one-hour training. This method was originally invented for Japanese Olympic representation, it is also known as “The four-minute miracle”
